Encouraging communicative and analytical skills within the rural population is essential to strengthening community participation and self-governance. Priority has thus been given to developing community media resources that are produced by and destined for the people of the region, with the objective as well to promote better forms of dialogue between urban and rural society.
This communication strategy has brought about significant achievements, one example being an annual journal that compiles experiences and popular knowledge of the peasant communities. Likewise, community leaders have gained experience and expertise in editing their own radio, videos and television programs.
